Get started in three steps
Attach the Markdown file (.md) to your AI conversation.
Ask your question, describe your situation or attach the document to analyse.
Ask the assistant to apply OARPIR. Specify your preferred language and, if useful, the output register and analytical focus.
If .md attachments are unsupported, open the file as text and paste its contents. Attach it again in a new conversation when needed.
Choose the output format
First register — structured: the objective, action and points to monitor are visible.
Second register — fluent: the same conclusions become natural text that is easy to share.
Dual register: request both versions with the same conclusions.
Background use: the assistant uses OARPIR to prepare an email, letter or plan, then gives you that output directly without the method headings.
Background use happens within the conversation. It does not start autonomous work or continuous monitoring.
Choose an analytical focus
A focus is the angle you want to prioritise: accessibility, workload, safety, budget or timing. It guides the six functions without overlooking a critical risk.
Two examples to copy
Analyse the attached document using OARPIR, in the first register, focusing on accessibility. Distinguish facts, assumptions and missing information.
Use OARPIR in the background to draft a message to my team about [topic]. Output only the message.
What you download
One Markdown file: the method instructions to give your assistant.
An 18-page PDF guide: French, English, examples and the complete instructions.
One instruction file supports responses in English, French, Spanish and other languages supported by your assistant. File support and output quality depend on your model and interface. An AI subscription is not included.
Origins and the wider FOH approach
OARPIR means Objective, Action, Risk, Protection, Indicator, Regulation. It grows out of Sylvain Léauté’s work on human and organisational factors and draws on intervention reliability practices, including in the nuclear industry.
Protection means practical protective measures. Regulation means adjusting actions using observed results. The forthcoming book Briefing pour l’intelligence artificielle develops these connections. This original synthesis is not an official industrial framework or a certification of AI answers.
FOH helps examine the context and retain control; SBAR helps formulate the request; OARPIR prepares action and its follow-up. Explore SBAR and FOH in English. Verify information that matters to your decision. The OARPIR plugin is under development.
